You work truly international. Maybe you want to vote for the country you do most of your jobs or you live in, which could be your native country. Enjoy your MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo chip! [mb] |

I'm looking for an updated browser to use with my mac OS 9.2.2. What are my options? [2654] |
| Prismo: |
The only browser still in development for the classic Mac OS is the fast and cool iCab 3 beta. Please buy the Pro version to support the German developer. Related iCab article on Low End Mac: The Sorry State of Web Browsers for Classic Macs.
See also the Web Browser Versions and Download Links page for more alternatives as Mozilla 1.2.1, Mozilla 1.3.1 (WaMCom), Netscape 7.0.2 or Opera 6.03. [mb] |

Why are we doing this again? [2653] |
| Prismo: |
The Macintosh survey is open and running since 1st October 2004. The second questionnaire is 18 months older and about screen and browser window aspects. I am also thinking of an additional iPod poll. [mb] |

What's the current most popular/used mac OSX? World wide - 10.2, 10.3. 10.4? [2644] |
| Prismo: |
Good question. Apple numbers will most likely tell you that Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is the leading operating system. From my personal experience many people still use an older system as OS X 10.3 Panther or even 10.2 Jaguar (10.1 Puma users are getting rare).
The hardware and software figures from the Omni Software Update Statistics are also an interesting indication At the moment about 87.1% run Tiger, 12.1% Panther and 0.8% Jaguar. Keep in mind that Omni group no longer supports Mac OS X 10.2 for its software products. [mb] |

New PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz with 15.2" display (1440x960 pixel). [2641] |
| Prismo: |
This active-matrix TFT LCD screen has a pixel density of 114 ppi compared to 101 ppi of the previous 15.2-inch Alu PowerBook with 1280 x 854 resolution. A higher pitch means smaller pixels. See the Notebook LCD Display Comparison for more details on notebook screen characteristics. [mb] |

to see what processor you have in os 9.x you got to use Apple system profiler (i think that's the english name) not in "about this mac" [2588] |
| Prismo: |
Yes, under Mac OS 9 you find the CPU in the Apple System Profiler (see the Apple menu). The current hint is only for Mac OS X systems which represent the majority nowadays. [mb] |

I use an eMac as well, you should have allowed multiple answers as many users have a notebook for work and desktop for home or other special uses. My eMac is primarily a print and itunes server. [2578] |
| Prismo: |
The idea of this survey is, that you participate with each Mac you use as your main system separately. Therefore you can take the poll with your desktop at home and your portable in the office. [mb] |

Measuring the physical display size will give very different results on CRTs and TFTs and I would strongly advise against recommending it! [2562] |
| Prismo: |
You are completely right but it is the only way if you do not know your screen size. The results are for TFT displays better than for CRT monitors, which deliver more an estimate. [mb] |
