12" iBook G3 with 800 MHz, Mac OS 9.2.2 and MSIE 5.1.7. Waiting for the next PowerBook G4 revision of the 12-inch model with a better GPU from ATI, faster Motorola MPC 7448 processor (plus 1 MB L2 cache), longer battery life and maybe Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. Early 2005? [165] |

The PowerBook G5 is rumored for 2005. Maybe with a dual-core PowerPC 970MP. There might be an interim G4 update. After introducing the new iBooks on 19 October 2004, David Moody vice president of Worldwide Mac Product Marketing said 'This new line-up of iBooks, along with the current PowerBooks we have will make-up the complete portable line-up we will be offering for the holidays.'
Apple announced Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) at its World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2004 and stated it would be released 'in first half of 2005'. [mb] |
